My name is Brad Sowell and I joined Boulder Ridge in March of 2023. Below I have done my best to share my first-hand experiences with you as a member. I have tried to be as unbiased as I can. In full disclosure, part of the reason I joined Boulder Ridge is that I live 5 minutes away. Bull Valley Golf Club is a comparable option and if you live closer to Woodstock you should also consider it. With that said, Bull Valley has 18 holes vs 27 and does not have tennis or a pool. Besides that, it is very comparable and the overall quality is on par with Boulder Ridge. I am a real estate agent and I specialize in golf course properties. Reach out anytime to talk shop. If you'd like to view available real estate please visit our main Boulder Ridge pageIf you have any questions, want to see the course or tour some homes in the area give me a call any time. Golf At Boulder Ridge

One of my favorite parts of golfing at Boulder Ridge is that tee times are usually easy to get last minute, which is a plus given my varying work schedule. Also, I can usually play 18 holes in under 3 hours allowing me to fit it in around work. It's nowhere near the time commitment to get 18 holes in as it was for me when I used to play solely public courses. Before joining Boulder Ridge, when I found I had an afternoon off and the weather was great, I would not be able to find a tee time at a public golf course. Additionally, the courses are in tip-top shape with less wear and tear. The only negative is that I can't blame the greens if I miss a putt!

Dining at Boulder Ridge

The answer is always yes, now what's the question? That seems to be the mentality of the staff at Boulder Ridge. The food and the service have honestly been great. My favorite dishes are steak of course, but I also love the different variety of fish options too. My wife loves the grilled lamb chops. In addition to the regular menu, the club is always having specials and Tuesday themed nights (i.e. mexican, italian, homestyle, etc.). The wine selection is extensive too. My go-to glass is the Duckhorn Cabernet and my wife's is the Moscato d'Asti. What I love about the club is if they don't have my favorite wine or spirit, the staff wants to know about it so they can stock it. They also have wine lockers you can rent so you can store bottles from home for a special occasion. In addition to the formal dining area, there is a less formal environment in the bar room. Also you can dine with spectacular views on the terrace area just outside the dining room. On Friday nights they have live entertainment.

Swimming Pool at Boulder Ridge

Boulder Ridge Pool

This is my wife's favorite part of being a member here. They recently renovated the pool area and added a covered poolside bar area which is definitely a nice amenity. They also added poolside cabanas which are super nice to have. If you're looking to meet new people I recommend spending some time at the pool. When the weather is nice, it's a great place to stay cool and enjoy food and beverage service poolside!

Social Events

I enjoy the different social events that are offered at Boulder Ridge. For example, the mixology classes, wine tasting, music fest and pool parties are a blast. They also do themed events like Roaring 20's night, casino night and have tons of activities for the kids.

Overall Impression

Even though I have only been a member for a short time, I plan on being a lifelong member. Not only are there a ton of amenities as mentioned above, what I love most about the club is the staff. They take the time to know your name and who you are. You are not just a number here. They love to interact with you and get your opinion on things. If something is not right, they will fix it. I can honestly say I haven't met one person who was not courteous or looked like they did not want to be there. I truly believe that a club is only as good as its staff. If you have great food and amenities, but the staff is slow or rude, you are not going to want to spend time there. At Boulder Ridge, I want to spend as much of my free time as I can there. The other big draw to the club are the members. Everyone is so nice. I try to meet someone new every time I go to the club. When my wife and I first joined, we were nervous because we didn't know anyone. On day one, we had members coming up to us to introduce themselves to us. Having a place to unwind and meet really fun people is why this place is so special and why I'll be here for a long time!

Membership Options at Boulder Ridge

In March of 2023 when I joined Boulder Ridge in addition to social and full golf membership, they offered a discounted golf membership for those under 40 years of age and a weekday golf membership for all ages. The nice thing about the weekday golf membership is that you have a full social (dining, pool and fitness) membership seven days a week. Here is the club's official membership page to learn more.
